Basketball Cheshire and Warrington Tournament - Silver Medal Winners - 17th March 2017
On Friday 17th March 2017 the third stage of the basketball tournament took place at Sir Thomas Boteler Grammar School in Warrington. We saw victory in the first 2 matches of our group winning 6-4 and 8-4 but lost our final match.  This meant we secured our place in the semi-final.  The semi-final was tense and went into extra time with Havannah scoring a penalty and another basket in the last few seconds - resulting in a 3-0 win.  In the final we fought hard but didn't manage to score and settled for Silver medals.  It was an amazing journey for the team coming 2nd out of all the Cheshire and Warrington schools that took part. Go Team Havannah!!

Football Regional Finals - 26th January 2017
Our boys football team once again made us very proud with another fantastic achievement in the regional football finals. On a dreadfully cold day, the boys were incredibly unlucky to lose the final 2-1 to Kings School from Chester. The boys played some fantastic football on the way to winning the group stage before facing local rivals Mossley with another super performance resulting in a 2-0 victory. We made it through to the final after a 2-1 win against Ravenbrook. The boys were a credit to our school and themselves and they should feel very proud of their performances throughout.

Athletics Competition - 16th January 2017
On 16th January 2017, a team of 20 children from Key Stage 2 took part in an inter-school competition at Eaton Bank.  Well done to all who took part from Years 4, 5 and 6, we won a few races and came a respectable third out of four teams. Thanks also to all the parents who came along to watch and support our team.

Swimming Gala - March 2016

undefined

Some of our Year 5 and 6 pupils attended the swimming gala this week.  Thalia from Year 5 has written an account of the event:

"On 7th March 2016 a group of us from Havannah took part in the swimming gala in Congleton. There was Holly, Elizabeth, Maisie, Keira, Molly, George and Ethan from Year 6 and Rory, Charlie and myself (Thalia) from Year 5.

There were 22 races and Havannah won the boys 25m backstroke, two mixed relay races, the girls 25m breaststroke and the boys 25m breaststroke. It was my first swimming gala and I think we all did really well!

Unfortunately, our wins weren't enough to win the competition but it was a great experience."

Well done to all the children who took part!
